Princess’ secret apartment

The concert hall resides within the Secret Apartment of Princess Gesine Doria Pamphilj. These breathtaking rooms, brimming with art and culture, are meticulously preserved and continue to be inhabited by the family.

The Secret Apartment of Princess Gesine in Palazzo Doria Pamphilj provides a matchless backdrop for opera. This space, where Italian artistry meets elevated musical expression, offers an opera experience that is both intimate and grand: guests are not mere observers but participants in a tradition that reverberates through the corridors of history. The apartment, typically a private sanctuary, opens its doors for an evening where each note reflects the rich heritage of the Doria Pamphilj family.

Included in this experience is a guided tour in English of the apartments. The tour offers insights into the art pieces, architectural design, and the rich history of the Doria Pamphilj family. This illuminating tour enhances the overall experience and sets the stage for the opera performance.

Palazzo Doria Pamphilj

Palazzo Doria Pamphilj is a 16th-century palace housing the Doria Pamphilj Gallery, a remarkable private art collection that has been amassed over 500 years. The palace itself is a blend of art and history, reflecting the nobility, politics, and unions between some of the most important Italian noble families, including the Doria, Pamphilj, Aldobrandini, and more. The gallery, at the heart of the palace, is home to most of the masterpieces of the Doria Pamphilj family's private art collection, including paintings from the 15th to the 18th century. The current appearance of the gallery is the result of a renovation ordered by Prince Camillo Pamphilj junior in the 18th century, and the paintings are arranged according to a late 18th-century arrangement, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique approach to the art collection in the atmosphere of that time.

The palace and its gallery are a testament to the city's rich cultural and historical heritage, making it a must-visit for those interested in history, art, and architecture.

Guests have the opportunity to visit the Doria Pamphilj Gallery independently before the performance by purchasing tickets at the gallery's box office or on the Gallery website.

Intellectually fulfilling and fun. It may not seem very touristic, but it would take your visit to Rome to another level.

The concert would have been enough with just the knowledgeable tour of the church. Add beautiful baroque music to that and I was in heaven.
